Anyone can form a reading club using the ReadBetter platform.
Clubs are either open to the public (anyone can join - no restrictions) or private (restricted to approval by the club owner. Club owners can restrict membership to members from specific cities or even students of specific schools). Every club is catered to specific reading age groups (ages 6 to 8 or 9 to 11 etc). A reader can only join a club if they belong to that reading age group.
Some reading club owners can collaborate with ReadBetter and we will license our AI powered technology to help those Reading Coaches take advantage of our ReadBetter system & technology. Such clubs are marked as "powered by ReadBetter" on the www.thereadbettercompany.com/clubs page. The Reading Coach Runs the reading club A reading club meets for 1 hour for 1 day per week and every week of the month A club has around 8-10 kids of a similar age groups (6-8, 8-10, 10-12) A coach can run multiple clubs. Each clubs membershiop is limited to readers of a common cohort (common reading age) and in addition may be in a common group like belonging to the same city or belonging to the same school. The reading club reads the same book at one time. The Coach must have already read the book his/her self before they can guide the group During the club session (1 hour a week per club), the coach ... Discusses the book with the readers Makes it a working Q&A / interactive session about the book Sets challenges for kids (builds energy) During the week (1-3 hours for each club)... Reviews each students reading logs, reading regularity, comprehension & progress monitors pages read by the readers each day shares weekly update to parents via email or via platform messages on the childs progress & what participation is needed from the parent for the child to keep making progress

Every reading club meets typically 1 time per week for 1 hour. The reading coach runs the reading club. During the club, the coach asks kids about the pages they've read and what they understood from the story. Sometimes the club can read a book together. Kids take turn to read and the coach or kids explain the story - such exercises boost confidence, increase social interaction and improve reading skills.

The ReadBetter system recommends books based on its understnding of the reader's reading skills. For reading clubs, the system uses its understanding of the collective reading skills of the club members to recommend books. The ReadBetter systems recommendations are given to the Reading Coach who in turn uses her/his own understanding to figure whats the best book for the class to read next. The Reading Coach will typically announce the next book to read atleast 1 week before the previous book is about to end.

The ReadBetter system is a scientific method for reading skill improvement. Just like a coaching system for tennis, cricket or any other sport we focus on your readers abilities and ensuring that they get to exercise their skills so they can improve their reading competenncy, comprehension and gain broader exposure to various reading genres. Just like the tennis or cricket coach does not provide the uniform or playing equipment, we prefer that you arrange for the book yourself. Parent's are free to buy books from any store, borrow them from a library or a friend or simply buy them used online. We do plan to at soem point in the future to launch a book library, from which you can borrow the books and return them after you complete reading.

For beginner readers our focus is primarily on helping them with improved reading comprehension. The first and foremost requirement for being able to read well is to actually enjoy reading. Our method requires for parent participation. We need you to take 5minutes everyday to have a talk with your child and express your interest in what the child has read. A child that reads becomes an Adult who thinks. In the beginning stages, what matters is they read and they read everyday. The next step is better comprehension. Until the child has developed good reading comprehension, we prefer for every child to read books they like to read irrespective of the genre.

Your role as a parent is crucial. All we need you to do is, be genuinely interested in your child reading every day. Maybe is a simple conversation over dinner, or sometime in the evening. Have the child relate to you - how much time they read for, how many pages they read and have them tell you the story as they understood it. We need you to add these into your childs daily reading log. If your child is older than 10, you can have the child enter the information - but you need to be involved. These are the most valuable 10minutes you will spend with your child to help them become a well-rounded thinker as they grow up. Our system analyzes the daily reading log entries and uses the information to guide on the next steps - whether its determine which book to read next or how many pages to read each day or how long to be reading daily.

Over time the system begins to offer your child with books to read from other genres and reading categories with the aim to help expand their vocabulary, knowledge domain. The systems goal is to increase exposure to additional genres that stretch their abilities just beyond the one or few genres they are most comfortable with. The ultimate goal of the ReadBetter system is for your child to become a well-rounded personality.

Most reading clubs meet for an hour every week. Clubs can be conducted remotely (zoom or google meet) and can also meet in-person (not comon these days). A Reading coach spends 1 hour a week running the club and between 1-3 hours during the week monitoring the reading progress and activities of the club members/readers. The reading coach also communicates with the readers parents and advises the parents on actions the parents need to take in supporting the coach in advancing their child's reading journey.

A person who has a strong interest in reading, is well read and can work well with children is ideal for launching a reading club. You can create your own Reading Club on the platform or you can create a club and partner with ReadBetter to gain access to the tools we offer
