Members of nature's carrion clean-up crew get star billing in this vibrantly illustrated ode to the turkey vulture. Author April Pulley Sayre's simple poem describes a typical day for vultures: they soar up into the heights on thermals and "sniff, search, seek / for foods that... / REEK!" Then, after feasting on carrion, the birds continue their search for food until the sun goes down, when they roost together.
